Bushwalking is a popular activity to do in the Daintree Rainforest.
Those who love the active lifestyle enjoy the many boardwalks in the area. If that
sounds like you, then it’s time to tackle the Mt. Sorrow Ridge trail.
Here are the top four things to know before you hike Mr.
Sorrow:
1. Postcard-Perfect View

The top of Mt. Sorrow features a viewing deck that showcases
the coast of Cape Tribulation. You can also view the sand cays and the
beautiful snapper island. On a clear day, you can see the outline of the Great
Barrier Reef, just a few kilometers from the coastline.
Going on a bushwalk on Mt. Sorrow ridge is an opportunity to
test your fitness. In the first few kilometers you’ll face fallen logs and huge
tree roots. The steep landscape also provides an added challenge to your
endurance.
Give yourself plenty of time if you plan to hike Mr. Sorrow.
Experienced bushwalkers estimate the whole hike on Mt. Sorrow to take around
6-7 hours roundtrip. This accounts for the total walking time so it could take
longer if you are making pit stops to catch your breath or explore the canopy.
As your hike, keep your eyes open for many interesting
creatures that are unique to the Daintree region. Look for the shy Boyd’s
Dragon or appreciate the beauty of the many butterflies fluttering along the
trail. You might even spot a Cassowary but make sure to keep your distance as
they tend to be aggressive.
Enjoy the great outdoors when visiting the Daintree region. Go on a hike to Mt. Sorrow and book a Daintree Rainforest accommodation nearby to make the most of your visit.
